Denver Folklore Center / Swallow Hill Music

I grew up in Denver in the 50s. By the early 60s I had fallen in love with the guitar. It didn’t take long to find my way to Harry Tuft’s extraordinary Denver Folklore Center. I can’t begin to tell you what an impact that place had on me and so many others. It was there I took some of my very first lessons with Bob Marcus. Baby steps. I knew a little about Peter, Paul, and Mary. Bob told me about Mississippi John Hurt and Paul Butterfield. I can’t believe it. Here I am now, more than 50 years later, about to play at Swallow Hill with my group HARMONY. It’s likely we might play some of the same songs I began learning way back then. So many seeds planted. Still growing. Trying to get it together. Just getting started.
